Following the release of What The Dead Men Say in 2020, Trivium now announces that their tenth album, titled In The Court Of The Dragon , will be released on October 8th. To celebrate the news, the band released the new song “Feast Of Fire” along with a music video.
Bassist Paolo Gregoletto gave details about the new track, revealing that the song was reconstructed from a demo sent by guitarist Corey Beaulieu . “We were quite far into pre-production when we decided that something about the demo was good, but could be even better. Our producer Josh Wilbur had even noted: 'The bridge is special, maybe so special that it needs its own song.' We dissected the song and started all over again,” he recounts.
Gregoletto also revealed that he had the words "Feast Of Fire" written on a long list of ideas that he usually scribbles down before recording. "Something about that title stood out to me. It felt like the missing piece in the story we were trying to tell with this album, like a climactic moment and a centerpiece for the narrative," he says.
“After all these years, it still surprises me how a song can materialize out of nowhere and take the album to an unexpected place. These are the moments we look for when we're making a record,” he concluded.
The cover of In The Court Of The Dragon , which you can see at the end of this post, is an original oil painting by the artist Mathieu Nozieres.
