Tristania returns to Brazil 12 years after playing at the Maquinária Festival in São Paulo, alongside Sepultura, Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard and other bands.
In addition to a performance in São Paulo, opening for singer Tarja Turunen , the Norwegian gothic metal group has a date scheduled in Rio de Janeiro: September 3rd, at Espaço Kubrick. The production is by Onstage Agência with Laranja Mecânica.
Formed in 1995 and contemporary to fellow countrymen Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania is one of the most popular names in gothic metal. Their first two albums, Widow's Weeds (1998) and Beyond the Veil (1999), were well received in Brazil after being released by a major national label.
With that, they played their first show in Brazil in 2002, in São Paulo, during a single visit to the country. They returned in 2005 and, for the last time until then, in 2008. The band's latest album, Darkest White , is from 2013.
