Tributes were paid to the guitarist on social media

"Fast" Eddie Clarke, former guitarist for Motörhead, has died at the age of 67 after contracting pneumonia.

After the news was confirmed on the band's official Facebook page, numerous musicians used their social media to pay tribute to the guitarist.

Phil Campbell, Saxon, Slash, Duff McKagan, Scott Ian, and Lars Ulrich are some of Clarke's friends and colleagues who have shared some words about him.

Phil Campbell: “I was very sorry to hear the sad news about Eddie Clarke… His iconic riffs inspired many musicians and will always be present in our hearts. Rest in peace, Fast Eddie Clarke.”

Fastway: “All of us at Fastway are heartbroken to post this – we lost a legend. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. You will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Fast Eddie.”

Saxon: “We just learned that our friend Fast Eddie Clarke has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but he is now with Phil and Lemmy. We have great memories of our time together. Rest in peace, Eddie.”

Girlschool Enid: “On the road with Saxon and Fastway in November 2016. Eddie is with his beloved Cookie. How he loved that dog.”

Duff McKagan: "Rest in peace, Eddie."

Scott Ian: “ I remember when I bought Ace Of Spades. I ran home from the record store and played the record several times. Looking at its cover, I just thought about who those crazy guys were and how they could play so fast! Rest in peace, Eddie. Motörhead forever!”
