The band had been inactive since 2009.
In a statement posted online, Trent Reznor announced that Nine Inch Nails is returning this year and will be touring.
Reznor also announces the band's lineup, including Eric Avery (Jane's Addiction), Adrian Belew (King Crimson), and Josh Eustin (Telefon Tel Aviv). Nine Inch Nails will once again feature collaborators Alessandro Cortini on keyboards and Ilan Rubin on drums.
“The first shows will begin in the second half of the year, followed by an arena show in the United States and then dates in other parts of the world in 2014,” says Reznor. The musician concludes the announcement by saying that more details will follow soon.
