Travis Barker , drummer for blink-182 , celebrated a major personal milestone this Saturday, the 14th, by flying on an airplane for the first time since surviving a plane crash in 2008.
According to the Daily Mail , the musician was seen at an airport in Camarillo, California, before boarding a private jet with his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian.
On September 19, 2008, Barker and his team were involved in an accident with a Learjet 60 that killed the pilots and Barker's assistant, Chris Baker , as well as the security guard, Charles "Che" Still.
The drummer and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein had just finished performing together in South Carolina when the accident occurred. They suffered second and third-degree burns. Goldstein died the following year from an overdose, and Barker sought treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Barker revealed in May of this year in an interview with Men's Health that he intended to fly again and that "someone close to him would give him only 24 hours' notice to pack a bag and board the flight." The drummer said he didn't know when it would happen, but it was planned.
“I could die skateboarding. I could be in a car accident. I could get shot. Anything can happen. I could have a brain aneurysm and die. So why should I still be afraid of airplanes?”
