Travis Barker tests positive for COVID-19: "I'd rather be playing drums"

The musician complained about the positive diagnosis on his social media

Through his Instagram , drummer Travis Barker announced that he tested positive for COVID-19.

The blink-182 is currently on tour with Machine Gun Kelly and posted a backstage photo from one of the shows to announce the news. Barker didn't give many details about his health, writing only: "Covid sucks. I'd rather be playing drums."

It's unclear exactly when Travis tested positive, but according to TMZ , his wife Kourtney Kardashian missed family events on Wednesday and Thursday. Kourtney has not yet commented on the possibility of also having COVID.

Travis Barker's recent health problems

The drummer gave fans a scare in July when he had to be rushed to the hospital due to acute pancreatitis. According to Travis Barker, he had undergone an endoscopy earlier that day and felt unwell after dinner.

“During the endoscopy, they removed a very small polyp from a sensitive area, normally monitored by specialists, which, unfortunately, damaged a very important pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe pancreatitis with a serious risk of death. I am very grateful to be much better with intensive treatment,” he concluded.

Barker appears to have recovered well since then, having been seen at the studio shortly after spending 7 days in the hospital.
