Travis Barker used X (formerly Twitter) to inform his fans about his recent health issue, involving intense pain in his facial muscles, called trigeminal neuralgia, in addition to a root canal treatment.
Recently, the drummer was also diagnosed with Covid-19 and held a virtual baby shower with his wife Kourtney Kardashian . Regarding this, he commented : “Last week I had Covid, an episode of trigeminal neuralgia, and a root canal. Which means I can handle anything God throws at me.”
This isn't the first health problem the drummer has faced recently. During rehearsals for the Blink-182 with Tom DeLonge , he tore a ligament in his finger , but underwent surgery before the tour. Last year he was also hospitalized with severe pancreatitis and contracted COVID .
Also in a social media post, Barker commented on his fear of flying, stemming from a plane crash in 2008, and that he only traveled by plane again in 2021 .
“I still hate flying. I love touring and performing, but unfortunately I associate travel and flying with death. However, I am strong and nothing can stop me from living life.”
Blink-182 has a show today, the 2nd, in Lisbon, but so far there has been no announcement that the event has been postponed or canceled. Barker even posted a story playing drums on his Instagram.
