In September, model and presenter Kourtney Kardashian caused some controversy among heavy metal fans when she was photographed Cannibal Corpse long-sleeved shirt .

Although it was confirmed that the sweatshirt belonged to her boyfriend and blink-182 , Travis Barker , the matter even reached former Cannibal Corpse vocalist and founding member Chris Barnes , who expressed his disapproval of Kourtney's choice of outfit by commenting with the word "posers" on the couple's photo.

Months after the incident, Travis Barker commented on what happened in a recent interview with Revolver and defended his fiancée. “That’s the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. Obviously, my fiancée doesn’t listen to Cannibal Corpse, but I do. I grew up loving them. To treat this as something negative is pathetic. She’s wearing [the sweatshirt] because she wants to. She’s not saying she knows all the songs. But I do! I bought all the albums and learned to play every single one,” said the drummer.

The musician also stated that he owns several Cannibal Corpse t-shirts, as well as those of King Diamond and Slayer . He also took the opportunity to make light of people who look down on him for being in a pop-punk band like blink-182. “Even if the world sees me as 'oh, it's that guy from blink-182', the truth is I've played in garages with a bunch of speed metal guys listening to DRI and SOD and I enjoyed every minute of it,” he concluded.
