Blink -182 drummer Travis Barker gave fans and friends a scare last week after being rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, the 28th, with a case of acute pancreatitis.
The drummer's daughters used social media to thank internet users for their support and update everyone on their father's health status, but the musician only commented on the matter publicly on the evening of last Saturday, the 2nd.
On his Twitter , Travis Barker confirmed that he suffered an inflammation after undergoing a delicate endoscopy procedure. "I had an endoscopy on Monday and was feeling great. But after dinner I started feeling excruciating pain and have been in the hospital ever since," he wrote.
“During the endoscopy, they removed a very small polyp from a sensitive area, normally monitored by specialists, which, unfortunately, damaged a very important pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe pancreatitis with a serious risk of death. I am very grateful to be much better with intensive treatment,” he concluded.
After being rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, Barker used his Twitter to write the words " me ," which further alarmed fans after news of his hospitalization became public.
Travis Barker joined blink-182 in 1998, after the departure of original drummer Scott Raynor , and has been a permanent member of the band ever since. The group briefly ceased activities in 2005, but returned a few years later, in 2009, and remains active to this day.
Starting in 2019, Barker began collaborating on songs and albums by artists such as YUNGBLUD , Machine Gun Kelly , Avril Lavigne , and WILLOW , and is considered one of the key figures responsible for the emergence of a new pop punk sound on the internet and in the mainstream.
