In this week's Wikimetal poll, Traditional Heavy Metal was voted the favorite Metal style among headbangers, with 37% of the votes. Thrash came in second with 34%, and Melodic Metal in third with 12% of the votes.
A genre that includes major Metal favorites like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Dio, or Accept, traditional Heavy Metal has its roots in the Blues of the late 60s.
Architected by the three bands considered founders of the movement, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin, traditional Heavy Metal serves as the basis for all its genres and fusion genres.
