David Bowie's "lost" album, 'Toy', will be officially released in 2022.

The version of the track "You've Got A Habit Of Leaving" featured on the album was released as a preview of the project

Toy David Bowie 's famous "lost album" recorded in 2001, will finally see the light of day officially.

The album was recorded with the intention of being a successor to Hours… (1999), but was never released due to Bowie's problems with his record label at the time, Virgin . 10 years later, in 2011, the mysterious record leaked onto the internet and now, after a second decade has passed, it will be officially released as a triple CD on January 7, 2022.

Toy is like a moment in time captured in an amber of joy, fire and energy. I’m happy to finally be able to say that it belongs to all of us,” said producer Mark Plati , who also described the project as an album that captures “the sound of people happy to be making music.”

The official release of Toy is made possible after David Bowie's estate reached a new agreement with Warner Music Group , which now oversees the artist's complete album catalog. As a preview of what's to come, the label released a re-recorded version of the 1965 track "You've Got A Habit Of Leaving," which is included on the upcoming album.
