Torture Squad released the music video for the track “Thoth” this Friday, the 11th. This is the seventh promotional video from the acclaimed album Devilish, released in September 2023 by the Italian label Time to Kill.
In this release, the band explores the use of Artificial Intelligence for the first time, with the music video made entirely by AI. The images are original, edited by producer and editor Daniel Berrettini of DB Criação & Design, built from information provided by the lyricist, Rene Simionato. The band's main idea is to use AI resources to recreate the Egyptian theme.
Guitarist Rene Simionato commented:
“This song is about Thoth, who carries all the ancestral wisdom of Ancient Egypt, and who in ancient Greece was known as Hermes Trismegistus. Everything became a true mystical journey, bringing the mystery of the Seven Hermetic Laws, which appear in the video in a symbolic and powerful way, and which align directly with the heaviness of death metal.”
Daniel Berrettini from DB Creative Studio also spoke about his experience with the project:
“Producing the Thoth music video was a fascinating journey into Ancient Egypt with all its cultural and visual richness. Through the use of Artificial Intelligence, I created images of the exuberant pyramids, temples, desert landscapes, art, and Egyptian writing. I also used visual effects to create the mystical atmosphere surrounding the god Thoth. An enriching project that I did with great pleasure!”
