This week, 3 songs from the legendary and timeless Queensrÿche. Now divided by a senseless feud, all we can do is hope that the bands that emerge from this discord will do justice to the legacy of this incredible band.
In the meantime, turn up the volume and enjoy these unforgettable sounds from one of Seattle's greatest bands (Grunge? Forget it!!!!). And leave in the comments other songs by the band that could be here!!!
Daniel's sound of the week:
Okay… This one is going to be difficult to explain. But let's try:
A song that narrates the encounter of two arch-enemies. Who haven't seen each other for 18 years.
And who finally meet face to face. One of them destroyed the other's life.
And to represent these two characters, of course, two great vocalists. One of them is called Geoff Tate, and he needs no introduction, after all, he was the leader of the band in this post for so many years.
The other one… Ah, the other one… He's a giant.
On stage, as you can see in the clip below, he's "in the corner." On the sidelines. But even so, he steals the show. He's a giant!!!
As Mae West would say, "When I'm good, I'm very good. But when I'm bad, I'm better." And Ronnie James Dio playing a villain is simply timeless!!!
Geoff Tate and Dio, together. For all eternity!!!
Rafael's sound of the week:
Ah, Queensrÿche's first album. Unforgettable… Even though so many years have passed, it's our duty to keep the flame alive!!!
And it's the song that ultimately led me to discover Dany and Nando: Take Hold Of The Flame!!!
Nando's sound of the week:
For me, the best song, from Queensrÿche's best album, is the one that says people always look away from a stranger's eyes, because the mirror never lies.
