This week's Power Trio sound features one of the greatest exponents of Southern Rock : Lynyrd Skynyrd in the Wikimetal Top 3!
The band, formed in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida, had several names before settling on Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1969 and became world-famous for their live performances and the song "Sweet Home Alabama" .
At the height of their success, 3 members of the band died in a plane crash in 1977. Only 10 years later, the other band members reunited for a tour with vocalist Johnny Van Zant, younger brother of leader and founder Ronnie Van Zant.
