King Crimson was founded in 1968 in London and gained cult status due to its enormous musical influence, being consistently cited as one of the pioneers of Progressive Rock.
The band's 1969 debut album, "In the Court Of The Crimson King," is considered one of their most influential albums, incorporating elements of jazz, classical music, and experimental music. They rose to prominence after opening for the Rolling Stones at their famous Hyde Park concert in London in 1969.
