Tool wins Grammy for Best Metal Performance, beating Killswitch Engage and Death Angel.

Last year the award went to High On Fire with “Electric Messiah”

Last Sunday, January 26th, the 2020 Grammy Awards , and metal was well represented. In the Best Metal Performance , Candlemass competed with their collaboration with Tony Iommi , "Astorolus," while Death Angel competed with "Humanicide."

I Prevail 's "Bow Down" and Killswitch Engage Tool won the Grammy with "7empest" from Fear Inoculum High On Fire took home the award with "Electric Messiah," the title track from their eighth studio album.

“Wow, this kind of restored my hope in humanity, because it means that a lot of fans out there got to hear a 12-minute song,” said drummer Danny Carey upon receiving the award. He also thanked some musicians who influenced him throughout his career, such as John Bonham , Tony Williams , and his “great friend” Neil Peart . “Thank you all.”
