Just like Alice in Chains did last Saturday, the 19th, Tool performed at the Rock The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday the 20th, two days after the Chris Cornell , and paid tribute to the singer.
According to the website Alternative Nation , vocalist Maynard James Keenan dedicated the entire set to Cornell's family and friends. Some videos of the performance can be found below.
Keenan is part of a small group of surviving frontmen from 90s rock and gained fame after Tool participated in the Seattle grunge explosion alongside Soundgarden.
The lead singer also took the opportunity to give news about the band's new album, which fans have been waiting to be released for 12 years. "Things are progressing. Slowly but surely."
Danny Carey , the band's drummer, revealed that he has already finished his part of recording the album, but some tracks remain unfinished, including some lyrics that Keenan still needs to finish writing.
