Tool plans to record a new album after finishing their tour.

The band hasn't recorded any material yet, but they already have ideas.

Tool wants to record a new album after the end of their current tour, which is in North America and finishes in Canada on November 22nd.

In an interview with The Vinyl Guide [ via Blabbermouth ], Tool bassist Justin Chancellor spoke about the band's future plans: “We have a lot of ideas. We haven’t recorded anything yet. But we’re very busy until – I think until after the spring tour next year. So when we’re done, we’ll go back into the studio and work hard and put some parts together.”

“We’ve already had some pretty decent writing sessions. So, we have the ingredients in place.”

Regarding material that was composed for other albums but never released, he said: “Yes, [we have] a lot from the last album. We have a lot of ideas, but we didn’t record them to the standard we put on an album. Just, I would say, a lot of demo stuff. And then a lot of ideas kind of kept on hold.”

Fear Inocolum 's follow-up album , from 2019, after a 13-year wait since 10,000 Days. The band also announced another series of concert dates in the United States in early 2024. Sales began today, the 13th.
