It's official!
Since their last studio album, 10,000 Days (2006), Tool has left their fans eager for any sign of new work. After numerous confusing statements from the band members, guitarist Adam Jones confirmed that the recording process is already underway.
Fan anticipation began when drummer Danny Carey revealed during an interview with Loudwire that the band will "definitely release a new album this year."
In January, it was Jones' turn to provide an update on the work: "The songs are ready. Lyrics are coming in strong ." A month later, vocalist Maynard James Keenan confirmed that the compositions were finished and he was awaiting the final version for the last track.
As a result, rumors that the album would be released in July gained traction on the internet, and the news reached Keenan, who assured them that they were just rumors.
Now with Jones' new statement, fans are once again hopeful that a new Tool album will be released soon.
