To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut EP, Opiate , Tool shared a reimagined version of the title track.
The new version of the track is almost 10 minutes long, twice the length of the original version, and was released under the title “Opiate²”. It will also be released as a Blu-Ray on March 18th and is being promoted as Tool's first music video in 15 years.
All the visual aspects were created by Adam Jones in collaboration with Dominic Hailstone , who was responsible for the film Alien: Covenant (2017) and Tool's current tour, Fear Inoculum .
The physical anniversary edition of Opiate will include a 48-page book containing behind-the-scenes photos and interviews with special guests who are close to the band ( Ultimate-Guitar ).
