The band is expected to release the new album later this year.

After a long 12-year wait, Tool's new album is on its way. The band has spent the last few weeks in the studio recording the successor to 10,000 Days (2006).

Although no release date or name has been announced, it seems the group is well advanced with the work. According to vocalist Maynard James Keenan, melodies and lyrics are already finished, and to keep fans eager, the group released a promotional video containing a snippet of an unreleased track.

Meanwhile, Keenan is also fronting A Perfect Circle, who recently released the album Eat The Elephant.
