The Outfield frontman , Tony Lewis of Billboard magazine confirmed through a spokesperson for the band.
In the statement, and later on the artist's official social media profile, it was announced that the singer died unexpectedly, and the cause of death is still unknown. "He was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives with his love, his spirit, and his music. He loved his fans very much and cherished every opportunity he had to meet you all," the post reads.
Tony Lewis and The Outfield were known worldwide in the 80s and 90s, and in Brazil, their fame came mainly from the hit “Your Love”. Recently, Lewis had been investing in his solo career, releasing the album Out Of The Darkness in 2018, and earlier this year, an acoustic album.
Rest in peace, Tony.
