Guitarist Tony Iommi released "Scent Of Dark" this Thursday, the 25th, his first new song since a classical piece he composed for Birmingham Cathedral in 2017 and his first rock track since Black Sabbath 's 13 in 2013.
The new song was written by Iommi and features the guitarist playing alongside Sergio Momo on guitars, Jimmy Crutchley on bass, Ash Sheehan on drums, Rebecca Rose on cello, and Julianne Bourne on violin.
Rolling Stone about “Scent Of Dark” : “I’ve recorded a lot of riffs and a lot of tracks with Mike Exeter [in recent years]. In the case of this one, I couldn’t imagine who could sing it; it seemed ideal to leave it instrumental. I kept the main part for a while and then added some new parts.”
To coincide with the release, the guitarist also announced that he will launch a perfume on November 29th, made in collaboration with the Italian brand Xerjoff and Sergio Momo.
