Tony Iommi says he's excited to release a solo album.

The musician said he was working on the project "without pressure."

During an interview on the Full Metal Jackie program, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi confirmed that he is working on material for a new solo album.

“I’m writing things now for myself, for an album. So that’s exciting too. And there’s no pressure. I just do things when I feel like it, because obviously I have a life to live and I like to do all sorts of different things, but I really enjoyed doing these things, like I did with Ozz [ Ozzy Osbourne ] when I did some tracks for his last [solo] album , which was great to work with Ozz again and I’m pretty open to all of that now,” he said (via Blabbermouth ).

The musician said the process has been "a lot of fun" and that he will not be releasing individual singles, as has been common, but rather a complete work. The album will succeed Fused , from 2005, which featured Glenn Hughes and Kenny Aronoff.

Iommi also revealed that he is working on a new solo song to accompany the upcoming release of his second signature cologne, which will be another collaboration with the Italian luxury perfume house Xerjoff .

To promote his first exclusive cologne in 2021, Iommi released the track "Scent Of Dark ," a result of the friendship forged during the pandemic between Iommi and Sergio Momo , acclaimed perfumer and designer at Xerjoff. Sergio is also a guitarist, and his work can be heard on the track.
