Tony Iommi , founding member of Black Sabbath recently made in a conversation with SiriusXM 's Trunk Nation about a version of the song "Evil Eye," from the 1994 Cross Purposes Eddie Van Halen .

The guitarist also spoke about reuniting with the original band members, including Ozzy Osbourne .

In 1993, according to Iommi , Eddie participated in a Black Sabbath rehearsal in Birmingham, England. On that occasion, the guitarist played a solo on the song "Evil Eye," and the recording was made. Tony emphasizes that the tape will not be officially released, as it is a special moment between friends.

“We grabbed Eddie’s guitar and took it to where we were rehearsing. We started playing some Sabbath stuff. Then we started jamming, and I said, ‘We’re writing another song right now, ‘Evil Eye.’ And we started playing it, and he joined in and basically played the solo during rehearsal, which was great, I mean, a really, really good solo.”

“We have a tape of it, but obviously, we weren’t going to take advantage of it, like, oh, let’s release this because, after all, it was just a special occasion that we played together.”

A meeting is still a possibility.

Iommi also commented on the possibility of a Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy Osbourne and the original members. Although they have discussed the idea , nothing concrete has yet been decided.

“Like I said, we keep going back and forth. It’s really a funny thing. I mean, God, we’ll be 90 years old when we do this.”

"It would be a good idea, but you know, you'll make everyone think, 'Oh, they're doing this for money.' And well, it wouldn't be. I mean, it would be a cool thing to do, and if it happens, it'll be another story. But we'll see."
