While Gene Simmons of Kiss insists on burying rock for good , Tony Iommi argues that rock will never die.

In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound , the founder of Black Sabbath disagreed with this line of thinking. “I don’t think rock is going to die. People have been saying that for years. How many times have I heard that statement in the last 50 years? Many times, seriously,” the guitarist explained. “I think good music isn’t going to end. There will always be a market for it.”

According to the musician, there are current bands that exemplify the power of the musical style. “There will always be a number of bands that fall into oblivion – as there always have been and always will be. But there are some bands that will stand out and continue,” he continued. “We have Metallica at the top – they're not going away. They have many fans, a great audience. There are many bands out there. No, the music isn't going away.”
