Tony Belloto , guitarist for the band Titãs, revealed on his social media that he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The guitarist stated that he will undergo surgery to treat the disease. According to him, the tumor appeared during his routine checkups.

In an official statement (via g1 ), the band declared:

OFFICIAL STATEMENT – During a routine check-up, Tony Bellotto was diagnosed with a tumor in his pancreas and will undergo surgery. Tony will take a temporary break from performing, and Titãs will continue fulfilling their concert schedule accompanied by musician Alexandre de Orio . As soon as he recovers, Tony will resume his professional activities. Titãs thanks everyone for their affection and support.

Tony Belloto also spoke out about his cancer diagnosis.

On his Instagram, Tony Belloto posted a video explaining his diagnosis and treatment for cancer. He also thanked everyone for their messages of support, his family, and the medical team. In the same message, he mentions that Branco Mello is one of his inspirations, as the bassist also battled cancer in recent years.

"Hello! During a routine check-up, I was diagnosed with a tumor in my pancreas and will be undergoing surgery. I will be assisted by Dr. Fernanda Capareli and Dr. Marcel Cerqueira César Machado . During this period, I will be temporarily away from the stage, but Titãs will continue with the planned schedule, accompanied by musician Alexandre de Orio. As soon as I recover, I will return to performing and my professional activities."

"So, first of all, I want to thank you for your thoughts, words, and messages of support and affection, and ask that you don't suffer. No drama. I am calm and confident, facing everything with courage and dignity. Inspired by our dear Branco Mello, who went through difficult treatments and is now out there playing, singing, and having fun at shows. That's it. See you soon."
