Vocalist Tommy Vext has officially left Bad Wolves, according to a statement on the band's social media.
According to the statement, the group will continue activities without Vext, maintaining the plan to release a new studio album this year. Read the statement below.
“It’s true that Bad Wolves and Tommy Vext are going their separate ways. The four of us are still planning to make new music and a new album will be released this year. Tommy was a big part of Bad Wolves and we appreciate his contribution. There’s nothing more to say on the subject, we just want to send love and gratitude to the fans who have supported Bad Wolves from the beginning. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.”
Rumors about Vext's departure began to surface today after a Bad Wolves Instagram live disappeared and MetalSucks confirmed, through a reliable source, that he had announced his departure in the video.
It was reported that in the video, Vext attributed his departure to a "scheme between band members and the record label Better Noise Music against their conservative policies," given that the vocalist had announced his support for the re-election of the current US president, Donald Trump, and believed the election was fraudulent. Furthermore, the musician showed support on social media for the invasion of the Capitol this week.
Recently, a controversy also arose alleging that Vext assaulted a former girlfriend, although the case did not proceed further – at the time of this article. According to her, the vocalist threatened to kill her more than once and physically assaulted her more than four times. Vext, of course, denied the accusations.
