Tommy Thayer , current guitarist for Kiss , spoke about his future and the band's avatars.
In a recent interview with Guitar World , the theme of the band's last show was discussed. The performance took place on December 2nd, 2023, and the band announced that they would continue in avatar form . Tommy Thayer described the experience as "interesting" so far, but said that "it will take some time to get the images where we want them."
“I hadn’t really thought about what all this means in the bigger picture, but with technology evolving so rapidly, there’s no doubt that this is the direction much of the entertainment industry is taking.”
Regarding the future, he explains that he is not yet "completely ready" to retire: "I have ideas and certainly options on the table."
“I’m not thinking about continuing to play in another band or anything like that – it doesn’t appeal to me. But I’m looking forward to an exciting future, working hard and being part of the good things to come.”
