Meshuggah should come to South America this year

Tomas Haake , drummer for Meshuggah , said that fans shouldn't expect a studio album from the band until "2020 at the earliest".

The Swedish band's latest album, The Violent Sleep Of Reason , was released in 2016 and resulted in a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for the song "Clockworks".

Asked by Hayley Leggs during the French festival, Hellfest, Haake said: “We’re going to do a few more shows now, and then we’ll probably do South America and, we really don’t know anything beyond that at the moment. We’ll probably do a similar tour next year for the festivals, but we have to start writing at some point, but the album won’t be released until 2020 at the earliest.”

The Violent Sleep Of Reason was produced by the band and recorded in Denmark, at Puk Studios.
