Medical report indicates that Tom Petty died of an overdose.

The musician passed away at the age of 66 in October 2017.

Tom Petty, founder of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, was found unconscious on October 2nd at his home and died shortly after, at the age of 66.

Initially, his death was attributed to a heart attack, but the medical report indicates that he died from a drug overdose. Tom suffered from severe pain related to a fractured hip, which worsened due to a series of concerts that he refused to cancel.

Famous for being a member of The Heartbreakers, Tom also played in the Traveling Wilburys, alongside George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan.
