Tom Morello talks about the Prophets of Rage album.

“We are musically accomplished”

Prophets of Rage, the supergroup formed by Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Chuck D, B-Real, DJ Lord, and Brad Wilk, released their first studio album on September 15th , and Morello gave an interview talking about what it was like working with the group.

Speaking about the band's performance on Jimmy Fallon's show on September 11th, Morello says the choice of date was no coincidence. "In our music, we try to help create a more decent, just, and peaceful world. So being able to play our songs about freedom and justice on September 11th is something important .

The musician also talks about recording the Prophets of Rage album, “it was the most fun, happy and exciting collaboration since the first Rage [Against The Machine] album (…) It was great to be able to play with Tim [Commerford] and Brad [Wilk] in Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave and now with Prophets of Rage and to be playing at the level we are playing, it’s really cool. We’ve never played better and we’ve never felt so musically fulfilled as on this album” .

Morello also recalled his college days, when he studied Political Science at Harvard in the United States. "It was interesting to balance the routine of two worlds: that of revolutionary politics and that of Ozzy Osbourne's guitar solos .

Concluding the interview, the guitarist says, "People are stronger when they are together (...) Together to fight for justice .
