Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello responded to a fan on Twitter who complained about the band's political stances regarding recent events in the United States.

The fan, who deleted the tweet after the incident, wrote to Morello, “I was a fan until your political opinions came out, music is my sanctuary, and the last thing I want to hear is 'political bullshit' when I'm listening to music. As far as I know, you and Pink [Floyd] are completely finished. Keep opening your mouth and ruining your fanbase.”

Morello, in turn, didn't hold back in his response to the fan, "Which of our songs were you a fan of that didn't have 'political nonsense'? I need to know so I can remove it from the catalog.".

The artist's response sparked numerous tweets from fans of the band who complain about the group's political tone, but fail to understand that their entire discography is based on political issues. "Which... machine did you think you were rebelling against? The broken toaster? A malfunctioning hairdryer? The printer that ran out of toner?", one fan responded to the discussion.
