Tom Morello performed at the Samsung Best Of Blues
Tom Morello guitarist for Prophets Of Rage, Rage Against The Machine , and Audioslave , displayed the message "Justice for Marielle" during shows in São Paulo and Porto Alegre.
In an interview with UOL , the musician said, “Like my country, the United States, Brazil is experiencing a moment of democratic crisis. The unsolved murder of Marielle is an example that shows this. I wanted to show my support and solidarity with Brazilians who fight for the poor, for workers, for the environment, and against fascism. That's why I play.”
Marielle Franco was a city councilwoman in Rio de Janeiro and was murdered in March, along with her driver Anderson. Approximately 13 shots were fired. She was a sociologist with a master's degree in Public Administration.
This is not the first time Morello has spoken out about politics in Brazil. In 2017 he displayed the message "Out with Temer". Read more here .
