Tom Morello defends journalist Glenn Greenwald after attack on Brazilian radio station

During the Jovem Pan radio program "Pânico," Augusto Nunes physically assaulted Glenn Greenwald

Tom Morello , guitarist for Rage Against the Machine , used social media to defend journalist Glenn Greenwald , who was assaulted by fellow journalist Augusto Nunes of Jovem Pan during the Jovem Pan program Pânico.

"My friend and one of the most intelligent, insightful, and brave journalists in the world, Glenn Greenwald, was physically attacked and subjected to homophobic insults during an interview in Brazil #AugustoNunesCoward," the guitarist wrote on Twitter.

During the program, Glenn questioned Nunes, who had said on another occasion that a family court judge should "check in" on the journalist and his husband, federal deputy David Miranda , for "not having time to take care of their adopted children."

After Greenwald's question, Augusto said that he didn't know how to interpret irony, and Glenn responded by calling him a coward. Augusto Nunes became angry and physically assaulted Greenwald, causing the program to be interrupted.
