Black hole photographed for the first time in history.
Event Horizon Telescope collaboration captured the first image of a black hole in history. Now, a new petition has been launched to name the region after Chris Cornell , frontman of Audioslave and Soundgarden . His former bandmate, Tom Morello , has shown his support for the idea.
The petition cites Cornell's massive influence and recognizes "Black Hole Sun" as Soundgarden's biggest hit. "I heard about that. I think that would be pretty cool," said Morello. "I don't know who you send that petition to, but I'd like to add my name to the list… It seems absolutely appropriate."
The petition already has over 46,000 signatures and is rapidly approaching its goal of 50,000. To receive a response from the White House, a petition needs 100,000 signatures.
