Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton , 69, took to Instagram to announce that he received his latest vaccine dose last Thursday, the 11th. He wrote in the caption: “Modern #2! I am invincible!”.
New research from the Pew Research Center showed that more than two-thirds of U.S. adults plan to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to the research, released on March 5th, 69% of adults say they will receive the coronavirus vaccine.
Pew research showed that 19% of adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine. 32% say they will definitely get the vaccine and 17% say they will probably get it.
According to U.S. infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, he estimated that about 70-85% of Americans need to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity.
In January, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) indicated that only 11 out of 1 million people experienced serious side effects with the Pfizer vaccine. With Moderna, the figure was 2.5 people out of 1 million.
Furthermore, the Janssen vaccine (the pharmaceutical arm of Johnson & Johnson) has been approved for emergency use in the US. With a single dose and 85% efficacy in severe cases, the vaccine works against new variants of the virus.
