Tobias Sammet , vocalist of Edguy and leader of Avantasia , commented on his years of partnership with Michael Kiske and his musical partner's return to Helloween .

“Metal is always expected to be serious! With Michi Kiske on stage, what a wonderful personality, you end up loving him,” he wrote in a post on Avantasia’s official page. “Things never get boring on stage. When I’m down, he cheers me up!”

The Germans are frequent collaborators in the supergroup, since the project's first album – including Moonglow (2019), released after Kiske's return to Helloween – and on tours. "As a fan, I'm so happy he's back in Helloween, that's where he truly belongs and without 'Eagle Fly Free' and the performance, there wouldn't be bands like us," he concluded the message. "Those five guys from Hamburg invented something that we all use as a foundation to build our own."

In 2017, when the Pumpkins United tour was announced, Sammet commented that he already knew about the reunion plans. “Yes, I was a little sad to hear that Michael wouldn’t be able to play with Avantasia again, but I’ve been waiting for this moment as much as anyone. It’s the best thing that could have happened for all of them,” he told Nocturne magazine (via Blabbermouth) .
