In an interview with Metal Injection , Tobias Forge of Ghost spoke about his personal tastes in music and his influences in metal. The musician mentioned some bands he likes, but said he is "allergic" to nu metal and "anything that suggests" the genre.
“My taste is very old school. Since ’94, when nu metal started to appear, I’ve been allergic to anything that suggests it, and unfortunately that’s the longest-lasting genre from ’94 until today,” said Tobias. “The bands I like are usually bands that sound more like a death metal band from ’87. Unfortunately. I have to be negative. But I like many other things. I like a lot of different rock. I’m more open in that respect.”
Tobias Forge also mentioned the bands Negative Plane and Gorguts as two that he particularly likes, praising the latter's Colored Sands
Currently, Ghost is preparing for the release of their new album, Impera , which arrives on March 11th. This Wednesday, the 2nd, the band released the new single “Twenties”. Check it out:
