Stratovarius member Timo Tolkki has announced the cancellation of his Latin American tour, which included six shows in Brazil ( via Igor Miranda ). Furthermore, the musician is facing serious health problems and was unable to fulfill his scheduled commitments.
In an official statement, Tolkki revealed that in December 2024 he was diagnosed with psychosis and underwent treatment to manage the condition. Additionally, he suffers from type 2 diabetes, which impairs his mobility. These factors ultimately affected his ability to perform.
Then, on March 2nd, the musician reported a worrying incident. While trying to board a flight to Mexico, where he was to begin his tour, he fell on his way to the boarding gate, worsening his physical difficulties. Faced with this situation, he chose to cancel the shows.
Tolkki also deeply regretted the cancellation and apologized to his Latin American fans. According to him, health is the priority at the moment, and he will need to recover before returning to the stage.

According to the tour's press office, TRM Press , fans who purchased tickets for the shows in Brazil and other countries can request a refund directly from the box office in each city. The performances were scheduled to take place in the cities of Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Natal, Fortaleza, and São Paulo.
The news caused a stir among the guitarist's fans, who expressed their support and wishes for his recovery on social media.
Furthermore, Timo Tolkki is recognized as one of the great names in power metal. He played a fundamental role in the growth of Stratovarius and influenced numerous bands in the genre over the decades. Now, he must focus on his treatment to possibly resume his career in the future.
