Stratovarius' last album was released in 2015.
Timo Kotipelto , vocalist of Stratovarius , spoke in an interview with Kaaos TV about the band's plans for 2019.
“The plan is to start composing. We already have some songs, some ideas. So, Matias Kupianen and I are going to compose. Maybe he's already composing, I don't know. This takes some time. I hope that by the end of the year we'll have the songs ready, and then we'll start recording this year or at the beginning of next year? That's still open, but the new album has to come out next year. This takes three or four months, depending on the whole process. So, if we're lucky, we can release a new song and do some festivals in the European summer and hopefully the album will be released after that.”
The band will tour Europe in October with Tarja Turunen , former vocalist of Nightwish . Their last album, Eternal , was released in 2015 by earMusic.
