The British band Thousand Thoughts promises to be a name to watch in the new generation of nu metal bands. With their recently released Better Than Never

In an interview with Wikimetal , the band answered three questions to introduce themselves to the Brazilian audience. The group formed in 2017 as part of a college music course for Ethan Smith , the band's vocalist, originally under the name "Elsewhere," but they had to change it due to legal issues.

After deciding on the name Thousand Thoughts and going through "several changes" in the lineup, the band arrived at a solid formation with guitarists Tom Caine and Will Fox and drummer Adam Field .

With a range of references that go beyond the most obvious names, such as Linkin Park, Korn and Bring Me The Horizon , the band also draws inspiration from names like Limp Bizkit and Periphery . "It's difficult because we have so many different influences," said Tom when trying to list just three names.

When asked about the best song to introduce Thousand Thoughts to the public, guitarist Will chose the single "Circles" because it summarizes what the band tries to do musically: "You have great riffs, a catchy chorus, and moments like the breakdown, where the music gets really heavy and sounds like Meshuggah or something like that."

“There’s this idea that heavy metal can never be popular and that it will never be something you see an entire stadium singing along to, and that’s the barrier we want to overcome: we try to take those elements and make something that will be easily remembered,” Will concluded.
