The new Marvel , Thor: Love and Thunder , premieres this Thursday, the 7th, in Brazil, and apparently the soundtrack contains not just one, but four songs by Guns N' Roses .
The classic “Sweet Child O' Mine” had already been used in the first trailer for the film , but according to a statement from Disney to the American press, replicated by the website The Direct , the complete soundtrack includes not only this hit, but also “November Rain”, “Welcome To The Jungle” and “Paradise City”. In addition to these tracks, the soundtrack also promises “Rainbow In The Dark” by Dio .
In an interview with Kerrang!, director Taika Waititi commented on whether there was any need for "negotiation" to include so many Guns N' Roses tracks in a single film. "At some point the music supervisors told me, 'Maybe you need to talk to Axl [ Rose ],' but they were just trying to scare me. He's one of my biggest icons," he says.
Taika also spoke about the inspiration behind the official poster for Thor: Love and Thunder , which, according to him, was inspired by the aesthetics of 80s rock bands. “I wanted everything to have a guitar solo feel,” he explains. “All the artwork is like an 80s album cover. Even the title font – I wanted it all to look like something I used to draw in my school notebooks when I was trying to perfect the Metallica .”
In addition to the success of the new film, Taika Waititi had already incorporated a rock classic in the previous film, Thor: Ragnarok Led Zeppelin 's "Immigrant Song" in an important battle scene. The film also featured AC/DC which is known for being the most expensive song in the world.
