Yorke and Flea's collaboration will be featured on the soundtrack of Edward Norton's new film.
Thom Yorke and Flea , respectively the vocalist of Radiohead and the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers , have released a new song. The collaboration, "Daily Battles," is part of the soundtrack for Edward Norton , Motherless Brooklyn .
Flea, who plays with Yorke in the band Atoms for Peace , contributes bass and trumpet to the predominantly piano track. Accompanied by a jazz version by Wynton Marsalis , the single will be released on vinyl on October 4th.
In an interview with Rolling Stone , Norton praised Yorke's ability to "bring together the personal angst and the overwhelming politics" of the film. "The music organically stands out from the film's story and gives you chills. It's very special when that happens," he explained.
Motherless Brooklyn – starring, directed, and written by Norton – will be released in November. Before that, it will premiere at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival.
