On Tuesday night, the 18th, multi-instrumentalist Thom Gimbel Facebook page to announce that he is officially leaving Foreigner.

After nearly 30 years in the band, Gimbel wrote that he decided to stop touring and try to settle down. “I am deeply, eternally grateful to Mick , Lou and Kelly , and to the entire incredible Foreigner family, past and present,” the musician wrote. “My sincere thanks to everyone involved, especially our fans, for dedicating themselves to rock with us over the years! I will miss you. But I hope to see you again someday, somewhere.”

In the remainder of the text, Gimbel announced that his replacement will be Luis Carlos Maldonado , from the alternative rock band Into The Presence , whom he referred to as "our old friend, a phenomenal talent." Thom Gimbel concluded his statement by announcing Foreigner's tour schedule and expressing support and affection for his bandmates by writing: "I hope you have a chance to see them live and enjoy the incredible and timeless music of Foreigner."
