The singer delivered an easygoing show that won over the audience

The third and final day of Lollapalooza 2018 was tense. Unsure of what the performance by former Oasis Liam Gallagher would be like – or even if there would be a performance at all – the audience was apprehensive.

Fortunately, at 6:20 PM an instrumental version of "Fuckin' in the Bushes" quickly dispelled the anticipation and anxiety. Liam received a warm welcome and exponentially raised the spirits when he began the set with "Rock'N'Roll Star" and "Morning Glory" from his former band.

Still recovering from the illness that caused him to cancel his show in São Paulo last Wednesday, the 21st, the singer apologized for what happened, but was brief. Liam preserved his voice and didn't talk much to the audience, but when he did say something, it was difficult to understand due to his heavy accent. This, however, did not prevent him from trying to communicate with his fans. The musician thanked the audience whenever he had the opportunity and showed himself happy to be in the country.

His performance was based on his work with Oasis, but Gallagher showcased the talent behind the group with songs from his only solo album, As You Were , released in October 2017. “Greedy Soul,” “Wall of Glass,” and “For What It's Worth” appeased the die-hard Oasis fans, but in some parts of the Autódromo it was still possible to hear the chorus of those who follow his solo career.

The second part of the set once again pleased those who came to see the former Oasis member. With a sequence – beautiful, but somewhat cliché – of “Wonderwall”, “Supersonic”, “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “Live Forever”, Liam showed that he had decided to put on an easy show.

The set, besides proving the Brazilian audience's love for the Gallagher brothers' hits, also showed how different they are: one seeks to innovate his sound and move away from the past, while the other aims to please the fans. There's nothing wrong with delivering what the audience expects, but the success of "As You Were" could have had a bit more impact on their performance.
