Tommy is based on Pete Townshend's unfinished rock opera
In March 2019, Brazilian cities will be able to see the rock opera Tommy . These cities are: Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.
The show will feature all the characters from the film, originally directed by Ken Russell . Tommy will blend musicians, vocalists, and professional actors recognized worldwide.
Directed by acclaimed director Alan Veste , this show features a rock band made up of eight musicians. The film is brought to life on stage through projections.
The Who 1989 show. Who's Tommy Live , with vocalists and special guests. After an intermission, the second half of the show transforms into a rock performance. The songs are from Lifehouse Chronicles Pete Townshend 's unfinished rock opera . It later became the album Who's Next , including hits such as "Behind Blue Eyes," "Baba O'Riley," "Song is Over," and "Won't Get Fooled Again."
The story follows young Tommy. After witnessing the accidental murder of his father by his mother's lover, Tommy is traumatized and falls into a catatonic state. As the boy grows up, he suffers abuse at the hands of relatives, sadistic neighbors, and frustrating attempts at a cure. As a teenager, he discovers he has an unusual talent for playing pinball, and when his mother finally breaks through his catatonia, he becomes an international pinball superstar.
