The legendary British band The Who performed the final show of their farewell tour, titled The Song Is Over , last Wednesday, the 1st. The show took place at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, United States.

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend 's speeches , this may have been the band's last show. After playing the last song on the setlist, "Tea & Theatre," Pete said [transcription via Ultimate Classic Rock ]: "I think, you know, it's goodbye. That's it. For what we know as The Who, it's goodbye. What Roger and I will do next, who knows? If we last longer, I'm sure we'll get up to all sorts of mischief. We'll do things together, certainly sharing some things, all sorts of things. But for that sort of thing, it's goodbye. And you were the last ones!"

Roger Daltrey said what truly seems to be the end: “Thank you so much for coming, thank you so much for your support throughout all these years, it means so much to us. It was every band's dream in the 60s to make it big in the United States, and thanks to you, you made it possible for us. Thank you so much!”

The official announcement of the farewell tour, made  during a press conference at the Iconic Images gallery in London, confirmed that the band would only be touring the United States and Canada. To date, the band has not announced any plans for a UK or European tour.
