The Who are being honored in the UK with commemorative coins from the Royal Mint. The band joins Queen, Elton John , and David Bowie , who have previously been honored by the company as part of the Music Legends series.
The Who's coin design features the British flag, the band's logo, and a Rickenbacker guitar in the shape of a pinball table, a tribute to their 1969 hit "Pinball Wizard".
In a statement released to the press, Roger Daltrey said he was honored by the tribute and that the "coin design captures the true essence of the band and what we stand for."
