The British band The Who has confirmed that they will release the album WHO on November 22nd via Polydor Records, marking their first release in 13 years.

The successor to Endless Wire (2003), the album will have eleven tracks including “Ball and Chain”, released this Friday the 13th. Listen to the new song below.

WHO was recorded in London and Los Angeles during early 2019 and was co-produced by Pete Townshend alongside D. Sardy . Dave Eringa , Simon Townshend , Benmont Tench , Carla Azar, Joey Waronker , and Gordon Giltrap also contributed to the music.

“I think we’ve made our best album since Quadrophenia in 1973,” vocalist Roger Daltrey in a press statement. “Pete is great. He’s an incredible songwriter and he’s still at his peak.”

According to Townshend, the album will consist primarily of songs written this year, with the exception of two tracks. “There’s no theme behind it, no concept, no story. It’s just a series of songs that my brother Simon and I wrote to inspire Roger Daltrey and challenge him to expand his newly acquired voice.”
